Christina Mykoniou
Coordinator
Christina Mykoniou is a Research and Development Project Management Associate and the Coordinator of IsZEB DIH. She holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a Master’s degree in Earthquake Engineering Design and is a PhD candidate at the Department of Architecture Engineering AUTh with a focus on Circular Economy. She is a certified Energy Performance Assessor, holds an individual study license from the competent Ministry of Infrastructure and has over 10 years of professional experience. She has worked on preparing architectural, structural and electromechanical studies for public and private projects as well as coordinating office and onsite operations. She has participated in several energy upgrade studies for public building blocks and specializes in project management, consulting, development of computational tools and writing technical guidelines in the field of Smart and Energy Efficient Buildings. Her main research interests focus on building energy performance, the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI), life cycle analysis and sustainable development of the built environment. Additionally, she participates in the WG3 working groups of the European Union on SRI, has authored and published scientific papers in conferences and serves as a lecturer in seminars on topics including Circular Economy, DfD, BIM and the SRI methodology.
Katerina Manolopoulou
Marketing Manager
Katerina Manolopoulou is the Marketing & Communications Manager of IsZEB. She holds a B.Sc. degree in Economic Sciences and an M.Sc. degree in Informatics and Management. She has experience in the industrial/commercial sector as a Marketing Executive. Currently she is responsible for: the development, execution & monitoring of annual marketing plans, the organization & coordination of events (Exhibitions & Corporate events), below-the-line communication plans, design and implementation of digital marketing strategies, website & social media plan, management & content creation (printed & digital), development of brand strategies, performance evaluation & generation of reports.
Afroditi Zamanidou
EU Project Manager
Afroditi Zamanidou is the Project Manager of IsZEB for the EU-funded research projects. She holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering (AUTh) and a MSc in Law & Engineering for Energy (AUTh). She is also a PhD student in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of UoWM. She has been a researcher (2019-2022) in the Chemical Process & Energy Resources Institute of CERTH. As part of her doctoral thesis at the University of Western Macedonia, she participates in numerus European research projects on smart energy systems during decarbonization. Her scientific interests are in the field of decarbonization of energy systems, the application of deep machine learning models and the prediction and optimal management of energy. Since 2016 she has been working as a Civil Engineer participating in several private projects.
Vasileios Metavitsiadis
Project Research Engineer
Vasileios Metavitsiadis is a project management associate. Holding a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the School of Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, he has a strong focus on the energy sector. Throughout his career, he has served as a Research Assistant at KU Leuven and the Information Technologies Institute of CERTH, contributing to research projects related to smart cities and sustainable building renovation. His main research interests include building energy efficiency, building performance simulations, and the sustainable development of the built environment.
Evangelos Sakalakis
Research Assistant
Evangelos Sakalakis is a Full Stack Developer and research assistant in the European research projects of IsZEB, with active participation in the design, development, and upgrading of digital platforms and applications. He is a graduate of the Department of Informatics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), specializing in “Networks, Communications and Systems Architecture.” For the past three years, he has been working as a Full Stack Developer at IsZEB, actively contributing to the implementation and technical development of the IsZEB Certify, IsZEB Hygrothermal, and IsZEB Hub platforms, as well as the design and development of IsZEB SmartSquare. At the same time, he played a key role in the upgrade and technological improvement of the IsZEB.gr website, enhancing its functionality, performance, and user experience. He has a strong technical background in modern web technologies such as Angular, Node.js, WordPress, and Drupal, with experience in both frontend and backend development, as well as in systems integration and CMS platform management.
Vasiliki Strapatsa
Administrative & Advisory support
Vasiliki Strapatsa is responsible for the Administrative & Advisory support of IsZEB. She graduated from the Economics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a specialization in Development and Programming and holds a master's degree in banking and finance (MSc in Finance and Banking) from the International University of Greece (IHU). For the last six years she has worked in the private sector in a European program management organization in the finance department. Her responsibilities included the monitoring of the budget, the writing of reports as well as the accounting and administrative support of the department.
